WOOD: A NATIVITY SCENE AND AN EXHIBITION

In the heart of Bergamo’s Città Alta, the large wooden nativity scene created by “Il Legno dalla Natura alle Cose,” an association that brings together companies in Bergamo’s wood industry including Tinosana, comes to life.

An effort that also sees the involvement of the Tino Sana Foundation and the Tino Sana School of Wood and Technology. The students of the School created the crib designed by architect Cesare Rota Nodari. The project recreates in a stylized way and with the remarkable height of 4 meters, characters, hut and trees made of decorated wood and is part of the #BergaBosco, a Christmas installation that gives Città Alta a unique atmosphere.

The nativity scene runs along the lines of the exhibition “Unseen in wood, a glimpse between architecture and design, from the postwar period to the end of the century” set up until Jan. 8, 2023 in the Sala Giuristi. The exhibition encompasses the unpublished work of 13 contemporary Bergamasque architects and designers through the display of 21 pieces of furniture they conceived during the 20th century and made by the 32 companies in the wood supply chain that are members of “Il Legno dalla Natura alle Cose”.

An exhibition on the design that marked the history of Bergamo from the postwar period to the end of the last century.

Openings and hours: Tuesday Wednesday Thursday, 3-9 p.m. | Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m.-9 p.m. | Closed: Jan. 1 and 2.
